Short Description:

The industrial online ion monitor is a microprocessor-based water quality monitoring and control instrument. Equipped with various types of ion electrodes, it is widely used in power plants, petrochemicals, metallurgy and electronics, mining, papermaking, bioprocessing, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, and environmental water treatment. It continuously monitors and controls the ion concentration in aqueous solutions.
The monitor's core is a fluoride ion-selective electrode (ISE), typically a solid-state sensor made from a lanthanum fluoride crystal. This membrane selectively interacts with fluoride ions, generating a potential difference proportional to their activity in the sample. An integrated measurement system automates the entire analytical cycle: it draws a sample, adds a Total Ionic Strength Adjustment Buffer (TISAB)—which is crucial for stabilizing pH, fixing ionic strength, and releasing fluoride ions bound by aluminum or iron complexes—and performs the potentiometric measurement and data calculation.
